Unsurprisingly this didn't get nearly as much media attention as it should have.

Wednesday, three Christian missionaries in Turkey were tied up and had their throats slit.

Why? They were printing bibles.

10 Muslims have been arrested.

Note this is Turkey - a country that wants to join the EU.

I think Turkey's human right's issues have to be dealt with first before they join the EU. Serious problems still out there sadly.

it is also a country where 'religious freedom' is enshrined in its constitution. things aren't always what they seem. muslims in turkiye don't necessarily have religious freedom either, don't get their throats cut mind you - just now allowed headcoverings or beards.

One problem as I understand is that there has long been a fundamentalist element jostling for power.
